Longniddry Golf Club

Formed in 1921, Longniddry Golf Club in East Lothian the cradle of golf, is situated on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, arguably the finest stretch of golfing coastline in Scotland, 18 miles east of Edinburgh and known as Scotland’s Golf Coast. Longniddry is the closest seaside links course to Edinburgh, comprising an unusual combination of woodland and links, with spectacular sea views from many holes.

Designed by Harry S Colt, with no par 5s and 8 par 4s measuring over 400 yards, Longniddry is the first links course at the start of the East Lothian golf trail and offers a very good test of golf for both members and visitors who come to enjoy some of the best golf available in Scotland. The par 68 course has many raised large greens and approaches that you would expect of a links layout. In 2018 & 2019, Longniddry hosted the qualifier for the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club, and has also been asked to stage the 2020 qualifying event. The two-round event will take place on July 4th & 5th and will see four players secure spots in the $7 million Rolex Series event to be held at The Renaissance Club in East Lothian from 11-14th July.
